Growing up in the Magic Valley I was fortunate to be close enough to Sun Valley, Idaho and able to enjoy the outdoors. As a child we would drive through the town of Ketchum on our way to various camping destinations. I would always look over at "Baldy" and knew that we were getting closer to the Sawtooth Mountains. As an adult that feeling hasn't changed for me.
Bald Mountain signals the entrance from a southern desert volcanic plain to Idaho's beautiful mountain wonders. "Baldy" is Idaho's natural signpost.
