Do you hear sounds and see shapes or patterns? Hear a word and instantly see a color? Hear sounds after you smell a certain scent? Then you're experiencing synesthesia - which is the inspiration for this performance. Synesthesia is a fancy name for when you experience one of your senses through another. Boise Phil collaborated with Saint Monday, a local creative agency to combine percussion performance with their artistic and technical skills to create a visual experience inspired by synesthesia. The sound waves from instruments interact with a computer program which creates generates the animation. This eclectic program spotlights the wonderful percussion section in a program that will excite and delight. From drums to mallet instruments, you will hear the vast array of percussion instruments.
