The Great American Solar Eclipse is coming to TFPL!

We're excited to host a few awesome events in anticipation of the Great American Solar Eclipse on August 21. Join us for an event, get some great information while having fun, and we'll hook you up with a pair of free eclipse glasses.** Also, check out our Twitter feed for a countdown to the eclipse.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9 at 7PM - Chris Anderson Eclipse Talk

On August 21st Idaho will see its first total solar eclipse since 1979, in what could be the single most viewed astronomical event in human history.  Centennial Observatory Coordinator Chris Anderson will tell you what makes this event so special, what you can expect to see, and where and how to view it safely.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 18 at 1PM - Friday Summer Movie

Drop in and enjoy a Friday matinee of a Disney family classic with a plot that revolves around an eclipse - The Watcher in the Woods. It may be a little scary, but it’s also lots of fun.

Join us to view the eclipse! We’re taking over Hansen Street and City Park in front of the Library and throwing a “Sun Block Party.” There will be stories, games, activities, music, snacks from Chobani, and of course, free glasses for every excited eclipse fan out there. You’re all invited to celebrate this unique experience with us – and avoid the traffic jams!

**To ensure that as many members of our community as possible receive glasses, one pair of free glasses will be given per person attending a related eclipse event. Twin Falls School District students and staff will not be eligible - their glasses will be provided by the district.
